Youth Tennis Advantage

Youth Tennis Advantage carries on the vision and legacy of tennis great Arthur Ashe, providing free after-school and summer tennis, educational, and life skills programs exclusively to kids ages 8-18 across four Bay Area locations. YTA’s mission is dedicated to enriching the lives of kids living in underserved communities, preparing inner-city youth for community leadership and personal success through three core areas: tennis (instilling discipline, teamwork, and work ethic through expert coaching), academics (dedicated coordinators assisting with homework, guidance, and counseling), and life skills (a curriculum merging tennis with education on nutrition, study routines, positive thinking, peer pressure, and conflict resolution). In September 2025, YTA’s McLaren Park program in San Francisco was named a partner in the Laver Cup Legacy Project, with tennis legends Roger Federer and Yannick Noah joining San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie to inaugurate newly resurfaced courts alongside YTA youth. Looking ahead, YTA plans to open two new sites over the next five years, extending its reach to an additional 100 Bay Area youth.
