Philadelphia Youth Basketball

Founded roughly a decade ago (per the organization’s own “One Decade” branding), Philadelphia Youth Basketball leverages the iconic game of basketball to deliver life-changing opportunities and experiences to Philadelphia’s young people. Built of, by, for, and with the communities it serves, PYB describes itself as “bigger than basketball,” uniquely intertwining youth development, community and economic empowerment, and workforce development, all through a racial equity lens. The organization provides a safe, nurturing environment for young people to build the skills and mindsets they need to succeed on the court and in their education, careers, and lives, offering programming “from kinder to career” that includes mentorship, internships, and summer opportunities. PYB now serves more than 1,600 young people annually through 90+ partnerships throughout Philadelphia and 350+ volunteers and staff.
